You know what the problem with Barack Obama is? He’s too lenient on liberal issues. What we need is a firm, hard push towards the left and for him to really come out swinging on his second term.
Did that sound crazy? I bet. While that flies in the face of all comprehensible logic, it is, seemingly, what liberal hack Bill Maher believes.
On Friday, the obnoxious comedian who believes he is a political pundit noted that now that Obama has his foot in the door with a second term, he should fully embrace his radicalism and push his agenda with vigor. He stated,
“New rule: Now that he’s been reelected, President Obama must get back at all those right-wing hacks that tried to paint him as an angry black man pushing a liberal agenda by becoming an angry black man who is pushing a liberal agenda. Now, I have been mostly holding my tongue about the president this past season because I didn’t want to muddy the waters in a country where you only get two choices, but Mr. President, there are two ways to look at the 51-to-48 percent victory. One is we love you. The other is, we like you 3 percent better than Mitt Romney. And by the way, let us never speak that name again. Let it be a dark and buried memory of a close call with a creature equal parts pure evil and excellent posture, like getting dry humped in a crowded subway by Roger Moore.”
Sure, that makes sense. Obama won the election, so the goal should be to put the pedal to the metal and floor it to defunct socialism and cultural destruction as fast as humanly possible. Maher is right and Obama should further embrace the dictatorial playbook of all despots and seek to implement a radical agenda as a means of revenge against those who tried to oust him. Seriously, how is this man still on the air?
Maher then went on to spout more nonsense:
“…it’s now the job of progressives to hold his feet to the fire for causes important to us. If not now, when? There’s no third term, Mr. President, so you might as well throw caution to the wind because it’s not like we’re using it to produce energy… you’re free now. With no more elections to win, you are free to never again have to kiss the ass of coal miners and say ‘clean coal.’ There is no such thing…it’s like saying ‘Internet privacy’ or ‘Tea Party intellectual’ or ‘FOX News journalist.’”
It is shocking that someone, anyone who is a citizen of the United States would advocate openly for our president to operate like a king. Maher needs to take notice of one very important fact: Barack Obama works for us- All of us. We didn’t all write a check for a $1 million, but all the same, we cannot advocate for a president to operate on his own agenda and completely disregard the will (and dissent) of the people.
Obama needs to listen to the coal miners, the doctors and everyone else because that’s his job. Because he no longer has an election hanging over his head does not give the president license to do whatever he pleases, and advocating as such is not only irresponsible, but flies in the face of everything upon which our system of government is based.
And I thought these smug, elitist “progressives” were all about egalitarianism?
