The questions in this survey are all wrong. In my opinion, where the Republican party looses its way is in thinking that they have to have some type of message geared specifically for Latino’s that may differ from fundamental conservative values. What Republicans need to figure out is how to communicate true American Conservative values in such a way that the Hispanic community can relate to them. Maybe it’s the messenger, or perhaps the way conservative values are represented within the context of Republican/Conservative talking points. It’s not about supporting/promoting Ted Cruze, or Marco Rubio, but perhaps there is opportunity to have individuals like these being the front men if you will in communicating conservative values directly to the Latino community. But even if such a focus is successful……..don’t look for more than about 35% of the Latino vote any time soon.

Without the Hispanics in California there would not be a citrus crop. While stationed in Southern Cal in the late 60s I never saw one white orange picker on the Irvine Ranch. It might be true on the later crop of illegals in California being a bunch of trash but a lot of the problems are caused by the white population being willing to buy dope so readily. Dope seems to be the root of the issue here anyway. All I see in a bunch of head butting with the problems and not one solution put forth. California has long been a liberal state and seemed to encourage homos so that is a problem, also !!

I agree with the work visas but the employers that have them over here on the work visas should be the responsible parties making sure that they are in full compliance with the laws. Also, the employers that hire them without work visas should be prosecuted regardless of race creed or color. They are breaking the laws just as much as the illegals are. Probably more so. If a person comes to this country for citizenship the laws should be something t the effect that they denounce their citizenship to their former countries. In other words, no dual citizenship. Summing up, the immigration laws might need to be reformed. Our current methods used to stop the flow of illegals doesn’t work too well so look to other methods and also look at more acceptance of the immigrants as human beings. Also, we need to soul search on just how our actual native Hispanic population , those that are actual Americans, should be treated as citizens of the U.S. and not illegal immigrants.

True, but taken in the context that my Ancestors had to have papers to travel to the new land as I saw the ships manifest.. Either way, that was over 237 years ago and now countries around the world have legal borders. My European linage dates back to the 1600s here in the U.S. Thomas Jefferson is a many times removed cousin and I descend directly for his namesake grandfather. I am a 5th generation Texan and both my grandfathers worked on ranches with Mexicans. There was no paper work back then but then there was no dope running either. The only way you survived was to get along with your co-workers. Most of the ranch hands just blended into our Texas population and now many are discriminated against by people that never had anything to do with the actual Hispanic population and this caused a big problem that is very evident now. This needs to be addressed and cleared up. As far as myself, I don’t discriminate against a race but will discriminate against a person if I feel they warrant it.

We are so close to getting the Latino vote over to the conservative side that with just a little bit of understanding instead of stiff arming, we can have the whole enchilada !! Very many of my friends are Latino and I find them very easy to get along with by just being myself around them and not putting on airs of being superior to them. You must be living in an area that you don’t live very close to the Latino population. I live less than 150 miles from the Mexican border and in the only state that was a Republic before entering statehood. I have worked, gone to school, and served with the Latino people, even the wetbacks, all my life and very few of them want to do no less than the white population. ?There are some that want the freebees but there are also whites that want the freebees. My wife is half Mexican but choose to call herself an American and has a Master’s Degree and none of her family were “gimmes” though she came from what is called a poverty level family, she or her relatives never accepted or wanted a hand-out. I get along with the Hispanic population because I accept them as human beings and never look down on them even in my not so politically correct way of labeling the illegal immigrates from Mexico. Believe it or not, they known by the term I used by the American Hispanics , also.

No one said every Hispanic comes here for the freebies. Hispanics from other countries believe wealth is in the goverment, not the private sector. They look to goverment for help not the private sector. The main problem is we have allowed to many Hispanics in the country at one time . Not giveing them the time to acclimate to the American way before we allow millions more into the country. You appear to be lumping all Hispanics in one basket. My family doctor is Hispanic and descends from the founder of our city (1824). Also, are you aware that many Hispanics fought along side of the Texicans in 1836 and in virtually every war the U.S. has participated in since then ?? I consider the non-native North Americans that have fought under our flag to be more American than most of those that haven’t even bothered to go into the military. As far as a blanket amnesty that you seem to have your comments directed at, It needs to be hashed out primarily by the border states. They have the first hand info on the matter. For the record, I do not like the way obama gave out the blanket amnesty but it did have a couple of good points in it.
