United States Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice announced yesterday that she would remove herself from consideration for the sought after position of Secretary of State in the Obama Administration. A top contender for the position, Rice received a large amount of criticism for… well, let’s just call it what it was- she received a large amount of criticism for purposefully lying to the American people in the aftermath of the attack on the consulate in Benghazi.
While many alternative news outlets were not shy about calling her out for her willful dishonesty in pushing a narrative about a YouTube video being the cause of the attack, the liberal mainstream media circled the wagons as best they could and lobbed accusation of racism at anyone who dared to call into question her qualifications or character.
Seeing the writing on the wall, Rice bowed out from consideration rather than face unrelenting criticism for the next few years and further damaging the already laughably inept State Department.
Almost immediately, the leftists in the media went crazy, shouting a general theme of, “Are you happy now, conservatives?!”
Yes, we are.
Some of the more noteworthy meltdowns were:
MSNBC’s Michael Eric Dyson renewed calls of racism by saying,
“This is the nasty politics that we have become heir to. But at the same time, Eric Holder, Barack Obama, Susan Rice. What do they have in common? They’re highly intelligent African-American people who did it the way America said it wants things to be done. They’ve been well-educated… but the reality is that there’s a particularly resonant theme here about highly intelligent black people and some unconscious refusal to acknowledge their legitimacy.”
We oppose Susan Rice because she has shown herself to be either incompetent or, more likely, a liar. We oppose Eric Holder because his Justice Department is riddled with outrageous scandals; and we oppose Barack Obama for… well, just hundreds of reasons- None of which has to do with race, but focuses on a brew of incompetence mixed with radicalism.
Democratic Representative Barbara Lee tweeted,
“Disappointed Amb. Rice, such a well qualified woman of color, would be denied a fair shot @ Sec State based on unfounded political attacks.”
Again, why do we have to play identity politics? If I had tweeted, “Disappointed Mitt Romney, a well qualified white man, would be denied a fair shot…,” that would be needlessly racial, no?
MSNBC’s partisan hack Andrea Mitchell eagerly weighed in, saying,
“I think this had become sort of an impossible challenge for her to be confirmed, that she realized that, the White House realized it as well. I think they know they are on good political solid ground, as you were just pointing out. This is not going to help Republicans at all, the fact that a woman and a woman of color has been forced out of a confirmation process even before she was nominated.”
And we finish off with the most outrageous quote of the day: from NBC News’ Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd-
“This was all driven, in many cases, by some conservative outlets who were making her the center of the Benghazi story. She sort of became a victim of this.”
Victim? No, the victims were those four who were betrayed in Benghazi. The victims were the millions of Americans whose own government worked tirelessly to push a false narrative to a country that simply was not buying it. If the left actually wants bipartisan cooperation, I suggest we begin by agreeing to condemn liars and propagandists in government like Susan Rice.
It was a good day for conservatives. Susan Rice bowed out and we got to see liberal meltdowns. Everybody wins.
