TheTeaParty.net Introduces “Get Out the Vote 2012″

A new ad from TheTeaParty.net has been released, and it underscores the importance of voting. Not in that hacky “Don’t Think-Just Vote” kind-of-way that liberal celebrities spout every four years. Instead, the video is a poignant reminder that though politics can be discouraging sometimes, our grassroots movement has taken hold, and the most fundamental aspect of our advocacy rests in the public’s willingness to make their voices heard with their votes.

The ad, entitled “Get Out the Vote 2012”, centers on disenfranchised voters holding up signs, noting their frustration with the lack of political efficacy they feel. They offer tired excuses for why they’re hesitant to get involved and wonder why they should vote. The ad then shifts to people holding signs, offering some of the many reasons we should all strive to make our voices heard.

We all have core issues that affect us more than others. While some may be only peripherally interested in, say, states’ rights issues, others may find the topic to be of the utmost importance. Whatever your reason for voting, the important thing is that we all work to hold government accountable to the people.

It may be trite, but that old notion holds true: how can we honestly hold claim to the right to disagree with how the government runs if we have not done our part by voting?

The new ad put out by TheTeaParty.net is a powerful reminder of what is at stake in this election; our country is heading down the wrong path, and has been for quite some time. We are now at a point where we have been offered a chance to turn things around before we reach the point-of-no-return, and each of us should jump at the opportunity.

Don’t vote because Diddy tells you to. Don’t vote because you’re guilted into it. Vote because it is the purest form of representation in America. Vote because no matter who you are or what Party you belong to, you know that our country is not perfect, and there are things that need changing.

Vote because, if you’re like me, you’re tired of the uncertainty of America- a worry I never thought I, or my future children, would have to face.
